EUREC Masters alumnus Beau Broen named “Hydrogen Person of the Year”

EUREC is proud to celebrate the outstanding achievement of SESyM alumnus Beau Broen, who has been awarded Hydrogen Person of the Year 2026 at the World Hydrogen Awards. The award recognises individuals who have made an exceptional contribution to the development and future of the hydrogen industry through leadership, innovation, and tangible impact on hydrogen deployment worldwide.

Beau’s success is a powerful illustration of the impact of the EUREC Masters which equip graduates with the interdisciplinary skills needed to navigate the technical, economic, policy and societal dimensions of the energy transition. Seeing a young alumnus receive one of the highest international distinctions in the hydrogen sector demonstrates the ability of EUREC graduates to shape Europe’s clean energy future.

Beau will be helping to strengthen the EUREC alumni community by organising this year’s EUREC Masters Alumni Forum, which will take place in Brussels on 3 October. The Forum will bring together alumni, students and partners to exchange experiences, build new connections and inspire the next generation of renewable energy professionals.
